Comedian Raju Srivastava passes away at 58

Comedian Raju Srivastav passes away, he was 58. He was undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) following cardiac arrest. The news about his demise was confirmed by his family. The 58-year-old stand-up comedian was admitted to AIIMS on August 10.

He was admitted to AIIMS Delhi on August 10 after experiencing chest pain & collapsing while working out at the gym. Raju Srivastava was working in the entertainment industry. In 2005, Raju Srivastava received recognition after participating in the first season of the stand-up comedy show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.’ He had also featured in films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya’, ‘Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon’ and in several others.

Raju Srivastava was on a life support system at AIIMS, Delhi. The comedian regained consciousness after 15 days on ventilator support. However, on September 1, after he ran a fever as high as 100 degrees, he was put on ventilator support again.

Srivastava worked in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s and received recognition after participating in the first season of the stand-up comedy show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge” in 2005. He had featured in films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya’ and ‘Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon’ among others.

On Aug 10, Raju Srivastava was rushed to the AIIMS following a heart attack and is currently in the coronary care unit (CCU). He was brought to the AIIMS emergency at around 10:45 am.
